Label Glue Question

I have a Warners Liver & Kidney bottle with a part of the label at the bottom loose. It looks like it may never have been glued completely. Over the years this loose flap has taken a bit of damage and I am thinking it might be good to glue it back down to the bottle.

This brings my question... What type of glue would be safe to use, or what was it originally glued with?

I used a glue stick on a Whitehouse vinegar label that was coming off one time. I am not an expert though.

I used a glue stick too , seemed to do the trick.
