Greg, Besides the Seth Hance info it's also interesting about him selling Dr Lynch's Dyspeptic, Hamilton's Virgina Remedy and Mortimers Rhuematic. Does it look these are Baltimore products???
Thats interesting that Mortimer is from NY, easy to assume Balt considering Mortimer & Mowbray and Hampton.
We dug an aqua o.p. Dr Lynch's in Balt and a green ip one turned up in Shrewsbury Pa. shortly after. It's a small town just over the Md line. The o.p. looked like it was possibly a Balt bottle but since we never heard of it we werent sure. The Green one looks very similar to a Carter's Spanish from Richmond a BGW product. I think the aqua and the green were blown in the same mold but the o.p and the double collar neck made a Balt i.d. a bit of a stretch on the aqua. Now I think it would be safe to assume it's a Baltimore Comp.
If you guys happen to be searching around in pontil era directories please give Dr Lynch a couple tries.
I have seen Lynch's advertised here in Ohio in the 50's.I will check for the proprietor next time I see an ad.They do look alot like the Carter's so I would guess Baltimore glass.
The Mortimers Rhuematic was made in NYC but that doesnt mean Mortimer didnt make drugs in Baltimore during a different period or even at the same time. People werent static even back then. Need more research to see if it was same guy, relative, or what. Look what a mess the Fahrney medicine business was[]
Here's the Lynch we dug. I really would love to have a chance to get it back.
Applied Lipps, interesting you've found ads in Ohio. There are other Md.-Oh. bottle puzzels. Oniel's Catholicon and the Oniell's that diggers find out there. If you come accross anything please share it.
It seemed I used to be able to remember everthing about the bottles we dug. After 25 years details become a little blurry. It appears the Lych was I.P.
