I just picked up this very nice amber pontiled Hamptons today. This is a nice uncleaned example with no wear and some very minor light content haze in one corner. I have been wanting one of these since I sold the other two I had to another forum member for his run of colors.

Very nice. We need to find a puce and a citron example the next time we dig. I'll let you pick which color you like best.

It's a nice one. Too bad the pontil is in the wrong spot.....Should have gotten a considerable discount for that flaw

Oldtimer, These amber ones sure "look" Stoddard, however, they are not. They are from the Baltimore Glass Works, and it makes sense since the merchant was also from Baltimore. It would have been a long hike from Stoddard down to Balto!

These Hamprtons come in a wide range of "Baltimore" colors from apple green to yellow topaz to a deep puce color. I have seen someone post a nice grouping of them on the forum somewhere.

I'm sure Chris could tell you everything about them. By the way, great bottle Chris!

Is the apple green color unique to Baltimore?

Not to my experience Cindy - you can find bottles and glass blown in this color from glasshouses in the Mid-Atlantic and even in New England (esp. Lyndeboro, NH)

Great Hampton's by the way....
