I got these two Pieces from a Greenfield NH guy. I really like these two! Has anyone else seen stove pipe blown glass like this?

One is a vase the other is a decanter type bottle. Both pontiled with The Stove pipe around the bottle. Similar to the ones seen in the book on stoddard:

But like many off blown pieces it is hard to nail down a glass house for 100 % sure. Both are fairly crude.

Thanks, and Enjoy:

I've seen similar pieces and never gave them much thought, I never knew Stoddard examples existed. Thanks for the great pics along with the pics from the books showing what you have...

Is that Lane and Pappas book? I'm still thinking of getting a copy, I just haven't yet. Anyway, nice glass. I have seen similar pieces but I think they were later than Stoddard.

Well you guys have made my day. I have wanted to know about a couple of glass bottles that I have that were blown in a metal sleeve like these pieces shown here in this thread. I had never heard of "STOVE PIPE GLASS". It made my day because the bottles I have, were acquired several years ago. In fact I don't even know where they are right now, but I trust there in a storage box. Time will tell.

In the mean time, all I can do is say thanks, for solving part of the story. Now I will have to find a copy of that book by ??? RED Matthews

Have handled/seen dozens of these over the years and I am sorry to report that I am 100% convinced that they are NOT 19th century articles.
