You have some fantastic finds. Were there lots of shards or just these few intact bottles? Is the black stuff charcoal and ash? Thanks for the beautiful pictures.

I've been thinking about making a movie but without better light I dont think it will come out Rick. Of course there will be an end, but I hope its not too soon!

ScottBSA - There's lots of shards also, its kind of spread out The black stuff is charcoal and ash, the layers of ash are from a fire that burnt an early saloon or gambling hall, the clay is from the river flooding...

epgorge - I use an external host such as photobucket, and then us an image code in the post

Can't you bring a flood light down there? Pictures are great but something like that would be a cool thing to watch live. I wish I would have taken a vid of the cobalt Hole way back when
