Perfume bottle

I recently acquired this local perfume bottle. It looks blown in a hinge mold with applied and tooled lip.

Embossed foot.

What kind of base is it?. It looks pontiled and tooled to me. Is it possible?

How old is it?

Hello, looks pontiled to me. There are always exceptions but kind of a rule of thumb is if it's pontiled it was made before the Civil War. Nice looking bottle. Good for you.

That's a cool bottle , looks like a cologne. It has a pedistal base like many figurals have. It looks like it has a pontil mark and they ground the rough mark down some. That's pretty common on perfumes and colognes although they usually polish the marks too. It doesnt look like they finished the process on that one. Unlike a lot of other bottles, some perfumes and colognes were pontil marked up until at least 1900. Lubin bottles are a good example. I guess using the older processes were part of the romance of the perfume business???

I haven't found any information about that company.
According to it's name, I'd say it is from Catalonia, Spain.

Very nice bottle, in Spain as in most of western Europe the pontil was used up to a much later date then here in the states.
