Enjoyed the post Joe and Mr. Fred. It's been a while for me doing any digging. It's been work, work, more work and no play. A post like this gives me the itch real bad. Good luck on the next dig. I always take a set of dry clothes when I go on a wet dig. Toss the wet stuff in a large plastic bag or in the back of the truck. Love the poison. Buster.

That poison is cool. This post has renewed my interest in this spot. Maybe I will not dig a poison there [:D][;)][;)]

Hey Joe,
You look like me a couple weeks ago lol...your story is so similar to mines, I though my friend and I was the only 2 crazy nuts walking around in the rain digging and getting mud head to toe I guess I was wrong...here's a picture of my digging partner after we made it out of the ravine, by the way great finds better then mines for sure...aloha Earl

Hey Earl, looks like you're a hard core digger, too! I like the improvised rain gear. That's a good idea. Nice picture.

It kept on raining steady throughout our dig,...and this pic says it all,[:D]...by the time we called it, we were having mud slides and cave offs every few minutes...The creek was picking up velocity too. Here's Fred with a strapside flask (slug plate) that he dug...

You guys should invest in a big tarp.25x25 you could have ringed it up over that little gully [:D]

Hey that's me! I'm Earl's diggin' partner. But that is Earl's improvised Rain Coat (heavy duty 55 gal trash bag). Thanks Earl's for the rain gear... Works Great! I'm working on the video of that day in the Mud.
