Just a plain little bottle but red and yellow color in the lip must of been added when they made the top?

is it a handblown bottle or machine made? I'm assuming handblown.
is the color inside the glass or just on the surface? No glass would be added on a simple 1890-1910 tooled lip.

My dad has a wax sealer with a lip like that. I would suggest testing it with a sewing needle to see if it is an epoxy repair. If you tap on the lip with a sewing needle it will stick in to the epoxy. It may be just a unusual bottle but last time I had a jar with those colors in the lip it was an epoxy repair. Someone could be practicing repairs on common bottles before they move on to rarer items. I hope its not but that is a good way to test it to see if it is epoxy.

From the bottle lip style and shape I would think its a rexall type druggist or cologne from right after 1900.
A photo of the bottom would help conform the age.
I'm guessing its a cup mold.
It appears there was some colored glass contamination on the pontil rod, the shears , or the lipping top that got infused into the glass when they tooled the lip.
Interesting item.

That's good, very interesting to say the least. I will try to get that wax sealer from my dad and show you some pics. You will definitely see why I assumed that it was a possible repair. Every once in a while you see a bottle with different color glass on the lip. Where did you find it?
