I dug this a few days ago in my 1880's-1910 dump. I'm thinking it's some kind of shoe polish or blacking bottle, as it's too tall to be an ink, I think. It's a light shade of blue, or maybe a dark aqua. Not really a hint of green though, so I'm going to go with lightteal. It's kind of crude, there's a lot of whittle, and the mold seams jut out distinctly. It has no embossing, so we'll have to go by shape alone. What do you think was in it?

I say BLACKING Circa 1880 and a nice form. I like it, it's different. If I were buying (I'm not) I would give $20.00 for it. Thanks for sharing.
i would go for $30 for it.

Don't think I'd pay more than 10...but it's still an awfully nice bottle at any price. I've dug two or three of them along the same form and they instantly yell "ink" but the height just makes it a polish!
