Makes me think it was in very acidic soil, it is a dug bottle right?

Not sure if it was dug or not. There are areas that are smooth---it is as though it has an extra "layer" of rough glass. There is probably some technical term in glassmaking for it....

I agree with epackage. Looks like it's been in some hard soil. Still like it. Some nice bottles come out of that area.[;)]
