I think the coin is Spanish.. Carlos III was king of Spain and it's colonies at the time..

Now, that dirty Dr Ebeling's.. the gunk is probably residue from an alcohol based formula.. got any rubbing alcohol in da house?

If isopropyl alcohol won't work, try acetone, or if you have any old tins of sunnyside carbosol around use that because if it instantly dissolves thick 100 year old layers of tar in literally 1 second, it will probably dissolve that stuff in a jiffy as well. I think it was banned a few years back because it is an atmospheric pollutant, but damn it works like a charm!

And FYI, if that was actually a Polish coin, all the letters and numbers would be backwards. [;)]

I was just out feeding the deer and I found this one in the box. It Must have been hiddin.
Green Lane is close to my home town where I grew up.I used to swim in green Lane Lake as a kid.

Great finds hidden in the gift box Rick... Cripes we have a difficult time digging a whole pre 1900 bottle some days... Nice to find a pontil, especially when you were home from digging.[:D]
