Hi all.........I went to an estate sale yesterday and picked up a beautiful jar ..... "TRADE MARK BANNER REG US PAT OFF WIDEMOUTH PAT'D JULY 14, 1908 " that is dark/medium turquoise with a number 2 on the bottom. I know this is a Ball Jar but that is all........ Any idea of the age of this????
Thanks.

Oh yes - and I think the top portion (lip???) is on sideways as the wire lines up with the printing....is that normal?

Of course ....here are some pic's.....

Hi Lynette, First of all, the color of this jar is considered to be "Ball Blue". The same color as Ball Perfect Masons & Ball Ideals. The dimples the wire ends go into are normally found exactly where they are on this jar as well as all of the Ball-made Banner jars. This is a Redbook 413 and books $8 - $10 in Ball Blue quart. Nice find! -Tammy
