Here is the first. Just L & W on the front. It is mostly not here but i found it near the next one and it looks old. The ampersand is very crude. Any one know anything about it?
This next one is awesome and stinks. I have only been out diving twice before today this year. One of my good friends has been asking me over and over to get out. We did today. First two tanks i was plowing through weeds and nearly got heat stroke. I had a headache and was going to just sit in the boat for the third tank. After my buddy was all set and off on his tank i just lazily got set and got back in. This time no hood. The cool water at the bottom made me feel a lot better. twenty feet from the boat i bumped into this. It is pint sized.
So then this is the SECOND one of these i have found. The first was three years ago. I felt it's distinct barrel shape and then the perfect lip top then the PONTILED bottom... It was whole without a chip. I swam to the surface in shock and then got a bigger shock… It was missing the bottom. It took the whole tank and a few minutes of my fourth tank to find it but i did. Weird how something you know is there can be so hard to find in mud at the bottom of a lake. I think it is a freeze crack. There is no glass missing and it fits together perfectly. What a shame but still one of the most amazing finds of my bottle hunting career.
The edge is lightly oxidized so at least it is certain i didn’t do this. What should i use to put this back together? It is still a great display piece of a historic American piece of glass.
