My son dug up a avon that set off his metal detector and not far from it was a wine bottle made by the garrett co. embossed Viginia Dare. Also not far away he dug a clear quart flask. Are all of these bottles in the same time period? Ive dug a few flasks like the one he has in a early 1900s dump but I doubt the avon bottle would date back that far. As far as the garrett bottle, it looks fairly old but I have no clue....I did see one at a bottle show but have no idea what it was priced or the time period...

Nice looking bottle! Garret Co was founded in 1835, and market wine under the Virginia Dare name until prohibition, when they started making flavoring extracts. I have also seen Virginia Dare soda bottles out there, but have no idea what they are worth.

That is the coolest Virginia Dare bottle I have ever seen. I have alot of fancy embossed wine bottles. They are not worth muck but they are very cool looking.
