Check this out: Bottle Necklaces. Animals, plants, poisons... turn any little bottle of light weight and size into a unique and creative piece to wear! I have bottles of very small size and weight I have no use for. I probably wouldn't turn but one into a necklace, but as a cute idea like this for a gift or conversation piece? I love it! I think the bear one is a "Save the Polar Bears" piece?

O.K. !!!!! Please look at my signature. I collect, as a side specialty, "Littles" which is what I call bottles under 3 1/2 inches tall or shorter, the smaller the better. Turn them into jewelry? Dastardly! [] [8D][:D][;)] Really, I try to limit them to 2 1/2" but the favorite half ounce pharmacy bottles exceed that. Anyway, especially Bear, if anyone has such animals I buy or trade. For colored examples, and that includes amber / brown I consider a premium. I have good traders. Jim P.S. There is no genuine upset in this post but please use newer, unembossed littles for these craft projects. Also, no harm done if you don't alter the bottle in any way.

My littlest bottles: See, I find it a great idea (The first bottle would work, albeit dang small as each pictured is an inch or less) to use bottles many others would throw away and, if you'll use 'em like the polar bear piece, then I say go for it! Better to be seen and admired than sit in a dusty attic. I understand how you'd hate to see them ruined, but if one was careful it wouldn't hard an already non-valuable bottle any. I must try it! When you say unembossed, does that mean the base other than a maker's mark?
In thinking about the final picture, the toy truck in the background seems almost creepy. Heh. Yet it's cute in my collection (An early find of mine from the '40s.)

I won't debate the issue strongly as I don't wish to give the impression that I'm pushy. First, My "Littles" are ALL out on display in my "Man Cave" and not hidden in a dusty attic. I don't even have an attic. [:D]Second, you say "an already non-valuable bottle" to which I take exception. I value them, I give up good bottles in trade.Thirdly, I did mean side embossed. Bottom embossing counts less, most times much less. I most often don't care about manufactures stuff.Fourthly, I am not trying to dictate ANYTHING. Folks here are encouraged to do their own thing with awareness of others feelings and sensitivity.Lastly, your contributions are welcome and valuable to me, I speak only for myself but am sure others agree. .

our contributions are values, and I wouldn't ruin a side-embossed piece. Just a unembossed piece, preferably hand tooled if not applied. Heh. Further, am so glad your bottles get seen! Know anything on my 'littles'?

Your pieces, so far, are of little value and would make good objects for your project. The cobalt item, I believe, is a Vicks Vapo Rub or some such. It's real value, in my opinion, is complete with correct cap. So use it for whatever purpose with my blessings. Again, I am not trying to dictate anything, just voicing my opinion.

I'm mainly interested in my clear little pieces. The first I found early this year, whilst being watched by the City of Norton Shores (I have no idea why; I was only wading around in the lake shallows when they pulled up and sat there. Not like a kid just above his ankles in a lake with ice in it is anything out of the ordinary [:D]) and the other two I got at a yard sale for a quarter each because they were so cute. I'm afraid the one in the third image will fall and shatter one day. It's so easily knocked over. Thanks for the information on the cobalt one. Why is it so small, though? Trial-size? Can't fit much into it. All my other Vic's stuff is either cobalt and bigger, or clear and flask-like. Can't see it well in the photo, but it was dimmer here still and my room has/gets very little light. Care to show your favorite 'Little'?
