Have a very nice UPS monogram bottle with cork still in it. It appears greenish blue and I was wondering if it is "prussian" blue. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Mike

Not sure about the colors as I don't remember seeing one in the 'flesh'.

Hi Mike and welcome to the forum !
I believe they call your bottles color Teal ( blue green) . And I believe it is JPS and not UPS if you look closer at the monogram.
I can't ever recall seeing a bottle called Prussian Blue. But when it comes to color , I haven't heard of a lot of colors that people describe bottles as today. I have seen bottles described as everything from Gingerale puce with a touch of Strawberry to Gasoline with Yellow & olive tones . Every person sees color differently. Prussian blue .... ( Don't quote me on this ) I believe would be what they call Sapphire blue . Lighter than a Cobalt blue , but darker than a Ice Blue.
All the JPS's I have seen have been a very pleasing shade of Teal !
Hope this doesn't confuse you , Brian

Hi GBmike, welcome to the forum.
Prussian blue is a dye (Iron HexacyanoFerrate), your bottle would be called teal by
most collectors.

I really like that blue insulator next to the bottle and the insulator behind it looks interesting. The blue one is no doubt off some sort of powerline?

Hello GBmike, and welcome to the forum. The difference between Prussian blue and cobalt is easier to see than describe. To me, Prussian blue looks like someone mixed black with cobalt. For a picture of a Prussian blue Corn for the World flask, go to the Baltimore Club's web site at www.baltimorebottleclub.org and see the last page of the Gallery.
