I dug this with my younger brother a long time ago. It was in a slope of debris coming out right under the corner of a barn. Probably the old privy trash. I'm guessing we dug it around 1986.

Well guys, I thought I posted on this subject before, regarding my first pontil – but it was while ago. Any way, I think it is neat because I have a blog started with some pontil identities and pictures. There importance of being the evidence of a handle on a hot creation is fascinating to learn about and relate to. Unfortunately the old books written, didn't tell us much about their appearance. I did notice that some of you showed some fantastic bottles – but without their bottom face picture. Now I think we need those to imagine how they put the handle on them. I will want to see yours Joe, next summer maybe. We are heading back to FL soon. RED Matthews.
