Well we have to have some entertainment. I emailed them and told them that chances are the bottle made contact with another bottle when it was put in the annealing furnace. They wrote back and said the glass was raised on the side of the bottle. It certainly was not part of the production process.

Epackage is right, it is a chip after all, a PONTIL CHIP! You mean to tell me that all the chipped bottles I`ve left behind at dumps were actually all pontilled and not really chipped??? I`d better go back and see if I can find some of them! [][][]

..and I have left literally thousands of rare, jagged top pontils in the dumps I have dug. Dam I'm ignert.
