I wonder if the pint bottles you mentioned were the ones druggist used to mix with water? A six oz. serving would be about 5 glasses that way. Maybe then the label only would make more sense. Yes, I'm aware the math isn't quite right for a 50/50 mix.
cows/anyone ... Check out this eBay listing from last year. It's what I believe is a variation of the amber Zoolak bottle except this one appears to only have Matzoon on it. The zoom feature wasn't working properly but I'm pretty sure I see Matzoon and not Zoolak. Please check it out and let me know what you think - especially if the zoom feature works and you are able to save a descent picture. Note that the word Zoolak is not mentioned in the title nor in the description. This is the earliest advertisement I have been able to find for Matzoon. Notice where it refers to deliveries being made by wagon. (The bottles definitely would not have been Crowns) 1887
Perseverance paid off and after several hours of searching I finally found this image of a Matzoon label. Mount Ararat looks more like a pyramid than it does a mountain, but everything is there including the Ark and a Dove bearing an olive branch - with a few camels thrown in for good measure.
The site where I found it has an amazing zoom feature for close up examination. Check it out!
( My next challenge is to find one of the blue, round bottles - hopefully with an intact label )
P.S. The actual label that came on the bottles might be in color and differ slightly from the black & white directory rendering - and no doubt have some wording on it.
