I came across this unusual bottle the other day. It is roughly oval with a long glass stopper/dropper. It's about 4" long.
Any ideas on place of origin, age, and purpose/use?
Thanks.
Picked this old paper Vegetine sign up from a flea market. Looks like it was pasted to the wall of a building (pharmacy or general store, perhaps?) and someone cut out around it to make this great plaque. Amazing that it has survived.
Couldn't resist picking this one up at the local antique market. Had a lot of nasty residue, but cleaned up nicely. I believe it is early-mid 1800's, but just wondering if this style was ever reproduced.
I'm selling some of my black glass. Pictures are attached. From left to right. Whiskey, American?, nice whittle, lots of little bubbles, great condition, glass chip pontil - $75Case gin, embossed v. Hoytema & C. crudely applied blob, no pontil - $60Case gin, open pontil - $75 Wine, open...
I picked up this copper plated jar at an auction today. WINTERGREEN label on the front. "WINTG" stamped on the handle. The funnel slides up and down the neck, but does not come off. I'm assuming some kind of apothecary dispensing bottle? Any ideas on age and where it originated?
Thanks.
I came across a gallon Patio orange soda syrup jug with paper label the other day. Is this something rare or valuable to soda collectors? It's not really my thing, but thought it might be worth picking up for resale, if the price is right. Thanks in advance for your input.
Oooh... a pontil top!

Thought I'd post some pics of my bottle displays, just for the heck of it and since few other people appreciate it.
The old stuff... all pontilled except for the case gin, which also appears to be quite early and crude.
I went to an antique show today and picked up this old wine bottle. The guy said it had a re-fired pontil. There is a rough ring on the base of the bottle and some blue swirls. Is this a "re-fired" pontil or what?
Always looking for beer and soda bottles from Ontario Canada. Anything BIM, especially pictorial bottles. Mostly looking for western Ontario bottles, but will consider any BIM Ontario bottle.
Drop me a line if you want to part with any.
Does anyone have a list of fruit jar names? I saw a jar at an antique store with what I thought was an unusual name. I made a mental note and was going to look it up when I got home. Now I can't remember what it was. I was hoping if I could get a list a jars, it would jog my memory. Thanks.
I picked up this old Florida Water bottle. John Taylor and Co. Toronto. Tombstone slugplate.
Perfumes and Florida waters aren't really my thing, but I like this one - the embossing is a little wonky and the bottle is somewhat local to me.
Anyone come across this bottle before...
I recently acquired this black glass ale bottle. I've been trying to find one for a while now at a reasonable price. This one is a real beauty with a crude lip, nice shiny glass, and faint pontil scar.
When I got it home, I was examining it after it had been sitting in my warm car for...
I came across this thatch/wicker clad demijohn at an antique mall. It's pontiled and has some base wear so it appears old. The lip seems unusual for a demijohn. It is also very light weight. I find the old demijohns to be generally quite heavy.
I haven't bought it yet. I just wanted to...
