    Embossed Pontiled bottles under $50?

Ok, I have a technical ballpark question on pontiled bottles under $50 that are embossed; How many different ones exist in the US? It could be a fun collection to have. I am guessing around 350 or more. Any ideas?

    8 sided Pepsi

After many years of broken ones, I finally dug my first 8 sided Pepsi Cola from Richmond, Va. I thought it was another Taka Cola, because of its light aqua color. Shown on the pic is also a Charlottesville, Va. Taka Cola I dug last year. Now we can see why there was a copyright infringement case...

    Some ice house finds...

I finally got to dig the ice house of an 1890's housesite in the woods. With the help of a backhoe, we dug down to about 12', ripping out loads of old barbed wire fence and an antique car frame. A few keepers, but nothing extraordinary. Got a Dundee Marmalade, Orange, VA pepsi, jug, local Orange...

    New Cellar hole

I located a cellar hole after revisiting a colonial detecting site this week. About 30 flat buttons and tons of broken iron pot pieces were dug with a few shards of glass here and there. The last foundation I dug 2 years ago was a back-breaker with no intact bottles, however an ornate shoe...

A few muddy bottles from today...

Dug for just 2 hrs at the 1915-1930 dump, which appears to be exhausted. Got a few repeat bottles and a few newbies; I am pleased to see the dandelions, because they are good indicators to dump sites or homesites. Got a many French bottles, which got me in the mood to drink wine tonight...

    Indian Rock

I dug a couple of ss Indian Rocks that are 10 oz, and was wondering if they contained ginger ale. I have seen the coca cola ten pin ones before, but these are simple straight clear bottles w/o town. Are these sodas collectible?

    Beware of Amber coca-colas

Several VA ones are on auction sites; at least they aren't going for too much; not enough $$$ for the alchemist who is tricking the buyers.

    Need good Zoom camera/pics...

Hi, I would like to sell a few bottles on auction sites, and just bought the lighted box sets that claim you take professional pictures. So far, my camera is taking better pictures outside with natural sunlight than in this box. The zoom or macro button seems to always give me hazy, undefined...

    Need info on these bottles...

I was digging in a 1920-1950 dump for milk bottles, and got these 2 round-bottomed teal aqua bottles in different sizes. There is a mold seam to the neck and has a few air bubbles. I know it's not too old but was wondering what was inside. They are hard to lay down, w/o rolling. Also found was a...

    Tiburon CA. Bottles?

I will be spending a few days next week in Tiburon CA. Any of you know if the bay is loaded with bottles, or any other info that could be helpful. I might bring my scuba gear, or perhaps just snorkel. I noticed there are many nice homes in the area, so dumps are probably gone, but the water...

    Double Die Bottle

While sorting out my extras, I noticed this "double die" stamped in the middle of the base of the bottle. I have dug around 50 of these Bitterquelles, but this one is the only one with the double strike. I have seen a few other bottles with double strikes at some shows; Any of you have similar...

    Pewter Can Lid

Dug this one out of a civil war camp; Taylor & Rodgett's can, New York; with Burnet's attachment patented Aug. 21 1853. ---I got spooked when I read the date, because I found it the same day. I wonder how many people got poisoned off of the lead content.

    Anheuser Busch Bottles NY?

I have been collecting some of the TOC Anheuser bottles from the East Coast, and was wondering which was rarer- The Watertown NY bottle or New York (C. Meyer)? Also, If any of you have any uncommon extras you want to sell, let me know. -Garrick

    Maltine MFG Co. Bottles

Dug these recently, and seem to be semi-common acoording to some price guides. I was wondering what product was inside the bottle and the number of variations that exist. The large one is heavy and came from a 1895 - 1905 dumpsite. Anyone dig any other styles?

    Hutchinson bottle question..

I dug this clear/sun colored amethyst hutch in a 1880's dumpsite. It has the original stopper which has deteriorated a little but the strange thing is that there is no embossing. I have not dug many hutches in my area, and was wondering if the unembossed ones are common? Talk about a bummer for...

    Complimentary Cobalt Bottle & more...

Dug the 1 5/8" "complimentary" bottle in the foreground. Was wondering if these contained perfume? Probably the smallest bottle I have ever dug. Also got a Wyeth eye cup, Sharp & Dohme poison and 1848 Lg cent.

    Rare Baltimore druggist

Although missing the head, it is listed as rare in the baltimore price guide; Monumental Bouquet cologne, W.H Brown & Bro, Baltimore. Found it along with the paper labeled rawleighs lemon extracts under an old house in orange, VA. I have dug (and thrown back) quite a few of these, but the paper...

Heard pontil bottle for $22,000 just listed. This guy wants a stimulus or what??? I have seen "one of a kind" bottles with no bids before, they were clear or aqua though, but still, this guy is nuts.
