Hi, I'm Hans, I live in a suburb of Cleveland, OH. I've been collecting and digging for about 2 years now. I have found quite a few bottles, and through this website and ebay I've been able to figure out what most of them are. I have questions about two bottles. The first is a 4 1/2" OP cylinder with W.W. HUFF'S LINAMENT embossed in two lines, when I dug it it still had the cork in it and partial contents that you could smell from 20 ft. away.
The second bottle is an cobalt iron pontiled eight sided soda embossed:
BURR & WATERS
BOTTLERS
BUFFALO N.Y.
THIS BOTTLE TO BE RETURNED
I know about when they were made and what they contained, but have not been able to find out anything about the rarity or value of them. I dont sell anything that I dig, Im just curious about these ones. Any information will be appreciated.

That Huff's is a very nice pontiled med. Holst's pontil med guide lists it as exceptional, 1 to 5 known. The color is kind of hard to see in your pic, but it looks like a light green, one sold in light green in 1996 for $200, I think it would do much better in today's market. If yours is a dark green, you are talking $1200 - $2000 if it has no damage. A dark green one sold on ebay in december of 07 for $1300, but I'm not sure of the condition. Hope this helps....Bill

Hi Bill, thanks for the info, I will try to get better pics in sunlight, it seems like a very light shade of green to me. Its really crude with a crooked neck and tons of little bubbles and a few potstones, but it is as mint as a dug bottle can be, with no cracks, chips, or scratches. The cork is still inside but I washed out the contents, because my whole house smelled like menthol.
