A first for me

I decided to get out and do a little digging this morning. The weather is nice and cool now. I went out walking around looking for cellar holes in a very old town. I ended up in a ravine behind a bunch of late 1700-early1800 breadbox style homes. Almost everything I dug was broken & pontiled so I kept at it. As I dug my way up to the top of the ravine it got deeper (about 4 feet) and this turned up. My first pig snout case gin & the only undamaged bottle dug today except a bunch of hinge-mold slicks.

Couldn't believe it wasn't damaged. It is really scratched up and kind of sick but a tumbling will fix that.

Base has a BIG X on it.

Very sweet bottle. To bad its a slick. [][][]. I'd feel blessed by the bottle gods if I dug shards of one of those. Are you going to post pics of it after you tumble it? Bottles like that make me go [8D]. Swiz

Hey Swiz, that case gin was huge! I had to buy a 6" tube and stopples just to tumble it. Been wanting a 6" set-up for a while. This just gave me the excuse to buy it [8D][]
