Not a repro per se (in that there is not a period bottle of this design) but rather a modern fantasy bottle.

I see. What is a fantasy bottle exactly, and how do you determine that a bottle is one?

I can possibly answer that. A fantacy bottle or fantacy anything is one that is not paterned or copied from an original that once existed. Hence, it is not a reproduction because an original item like it never existed. It was made to look like it could have been an original item but it never was. There is no basis for what it appears to be. You know that it is a fantacy item because there are signs that it appears reproduced but there is no record of it ever having an original that it was copied from.

Well, Dan took the words right out of my mouth, except he failed to mention than an original version of the bottle never existed, therefore it would have been impossible to make a reproduction of it because it never existed, making the alleged copy in fact an original.. albeit a modern one...oops, he DID mention it... he's right!!!
