This is being advertised as an inkwell. The mouth goes inward a little ways into the piece. It has an open pontil. It is also vertically ribbed. The part that makes me think modern is the signature. I know very little when it comes to bottles. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe

It looks like a good one to me. The quality is there. The pontil I couldn't detect from the picture. I have collected some inks, but never got carried into the fancy ones. The ones I like are those that have an off set open finish, because I know what kind of tricks the glass blower had to live with to keep them from having bird swings. They happen when the parison collapses and the inside surfaces make contact. RED Matthews
