Bottle, Jug or pitcher?

Hello Bill,
I was wondering if you could help identify this item; it has a pontel on the bottom which looks like the an iron type?? and the top looks like it may have a fire polished lip??
I don't have a clue yet about bottles and such; but plan on learning as I find it very interesting.

Hi Dee, looks like a crute, however I have never seen one like it. The ones I had and have seen have are ground inside the top and ground stoper to match. Yours also has an applied handle. And the inside swirls and color make me think you should take it to a dealer to look at. Don't sell it till you get a few opinions.
