Recently I bought this bronze or brass thingamabob at an antique shop. It has a really heavy patina on it and looks very old. It's 5 inches long and 3 inches high. There's a little chain loop attached to the pointed end. The top is hinged and opens on one side. Does anyone know what it is?
Don't bother asking about the candy. I already ate it.

Did you try rubbing it and asking for three wishes? Here's hoping Barbara Eden makes an appearance[;)]

Does look like the classic oil lamp a genie would live in, but I have never seen one with hinged lid and it lacks a handle.
Did you rub it and wish for chocolate? Cuz that worked. I know that's what I would have wished for.
Ritual wine vessel to pour into a goblet or the mouth of Indiana Jones to turn him into a servant of Khali Ma..
