Jim and Karl. I just put in a bid on two of Karl's jars. One was the wax ring. I noticed the blend mark inside the pressed on ring. I assume that is what it was. Please advise. I also bid on the threaded Mason jar. I assume it has a ground top. It also looks like there are three vent dots on the bottom. Is this correct? Good luck. RED Matthews

Red,
You are correct on all. I was not sure what to tell the wife that mark was on the wax ring but it is inside the glass. Wife said your bid on the wax seal didn't come through. A big thanks from the both of us.

The 1858 jar is definitely not a ground top. The pictures are clear for anyone to see it is a nice condition machine made jar.
