just read the fine print on ebay's NEW great deal for sellars starting april 19 free listings up to 50 per month..but look at the fine print copied and pasted below

"Also, to encourage low-cost shipping, Final Value Fees for all sellers will be applied to the total amount of the sale, including shipping.

To get the lowest overall fees, just keep your shipping costs low and consider offering free shipping. "

Are they crazy...sellars dont control shipping usps, ups do..I always add a lousy $1.00 to shipping and handling for material cost now ebay wants a piece of the shipping cost...they need to start moving some of the cost to the buyer . free shipping they have lost it....

Hi splante, I certainly keep loosing interest in the control and cost of working with eBay. The options are out there, even working with guntherhess. RED Matthews

The general trend in e-commerce these days is free shipping. Of course, Amazon and the others can eat the shipping as a cost of doing business, but for a small mom & pop business or an ordinary person, that represents a substantial amount.

It's becoming pretty obvious eBay considers large sellers as their main customer and hobbyists are getting the short end of the stick. I'm all for supporting the hobby networks like guntherhess's and selling that way.

I guess that if they are offering 50 free listings a month that a person could start the item they are selling at what they want for it plus add the shipping cost as part of the selling price . If the item didn't sell , the seller would not be out nothing but a little bit of time as for listing the item . I quit selling on eBay when they started the PayPal nonsense .

The final value fee cap has also been raised (starting 4/19) from $50. to $100! unless you open an eBay 'store' for 15.95 a month. Then it will remain at 50 bucks for now.

They are charging a final value fee on the shipping to encourage 'low cost shipping'?? wow []

I have stopped selling on ebay over a year ago. And have had great success just offering extra bottles for sale on this site. Anything better then a few hundred dollars I will send to a major bottle auction. And have built a good network of collectors and dealers that I can move better items to quickly.

I used to really enjoy selling on ebay but anymore the hassle has become more then I wish to deal with. I preferred the old ebay where buyers and sellers had to actually send each other an email after the auction was over. I ended up making quite a few new friends from those days.

thanks
great advice on others sites to sell including this one. I have had it with ebay selling. not bad to buy items but terrible for the sellar who only sells low cost items $20.00 or less.
I bought the brownie club bottle shown below for $5.00 ,28 oz bottle they charged $8.50 shipping , I think they lost money it came in a priority mail med box which I believe cost about 12.00
