Out digging today and was shoveling out my hole - nearly stuck the shovel in this guy. Guess I missed him with my rake.
Not sure if it's even a poison, but a lot of times the amber and the many sides indicate a poison. What do you think?

Nice little bottle, Tim. Glad to hear that he avoided "death by shovel" [:D]. It may be a medicine, but the style is also similar to some of the English poisons. It's cool whatever it is. Nice color! ~Jim

Hi Guys,

That one reminds me of this little cobalt one that nearly got away. Eight sided with paper thin flaired lip. You could almost slice your finger on the edge its's so thin. No markings at all though.

Yeah, it looks similar. The lip on mine is real thin too. There is a REAL faint circle on the bottom, and it looks like there's a letter in it, but I can't be sure. Pretty bottle at least.

could the circular indentation on the bottom be a ground-out pontil ?...

The blue octagonals were widely used over here, my local c.1880 dump produced a lot of them, have seen 3 different sizes in total... nice bottles.
