In early June I went back to the marsh spot that had yielded some surprising finds. This dig was more thorough, as I tried to get all the spots I missed the first time. I didn't find as much, but I found four bottles I was pretty happy with.

A nice Palmer perfume with the original stopper

A massive Reed's Patties jar. 80 ounces!

An 1860s-70s flint glass G.T. Barney jar from Malden, Mass. Note the saltwater reacts with the flint glass to give it a black patina.

Now the smallest find, a mini advertising (?) jug! Perhaps it was a souvenir.

I pulled out some interesting milk glass too. I've never seen one embossed Strawberry before.

Another stylish one, Marinello, which is now a beauty school

Nice Reed's Jar! I dug the same Palmer bottle last week, but without the stopper. I have a similar size advertising jug as well. Never dug in a marsh yet....always wanted to. Nice finds thanks for posting!

Cool stuff, is that Reed's patties BIM? Also, nice job eyeballing the mini-mini-jug, I found one like that, though perhaps even smaller, in a TOC dump years ago. Dollhouse jug maybe?

Jim, people dumped into the bay. Pretty much anywhere you dig you will find bottles, but a lot of times it is newer junk. Steve, the Reeds is ABM, but not too far from BIM age.
