Most loaded privy I have ever dug!

Well my 1840 map shows a building that ran the length of the property. Just like the yellow carriage house ya see next to the pit. Except would of ran the whole lenght. If it did date to the pit was 40's it would of been in a barn/ hores stable or what ever it was. Now would they have done that. I must say though I have seen privies dug in dirt floors of homes so I guess they would of??

This is my moms house. So maybe on of these days I go for a visit I'll bust out the stuff I found and take pics of that and the yard better and well see what everyone thinks. For years I have been wondering if there is a pit full of pontil stuff.[&:] thanks for the help!!!!!

Nice hole I must say I never saw the picture of the picture technique. Why didn't you just use the pix you took on the dig?

Yeah real professional!! lol... I only had a cheep disposable camera, on hand at the time. So thats all I have is hard copies.. I do have the negitives tho.

I belive some documentation should be done, at leats to show the next guy it was dug... No, All the bottles and everything I kept stays with that house. Its part of the history.....

This is off my topic but... If it is going to be bulldozed and built with house. Some should get in there and dig before its gone. Refering to the lost ghost town I found... Whats a killer is 1/4 mille east is Sub division's every were... No Doubt it would of be gone allready if the houseing crash not have happend....

Do what I did once in a 20 foot privy. I put a note in a plastic water bottle.tossed it in first and filled it in. It said"if you find this your a dumbass" thats documentation [8D]
