[attachment=IMG_1985.JPG] Went digging a few weeks ago and unearthed a nice early late 1870's/early1880's privy. Kept pulling up big broken pieces of beer bottles (the big ones that are about 11" tall)...didn't pay much attention as we see a lot of these (slicks). Pulled up a whole one, wiped off the dirt, and was quite excited to find that it was one of the big "C. Conrad Original Budweiser" bottles. Pulled a second one out of the very bottom of the privy along with a slick beer. The second one (on the right in the photo) has an embossing scheme I have never seen before on these...the one on the left I've seen (but not ever dug) several of but I can't find any record of the one on the right. Anyone seen the "high embossing" version before?
