Nice to here talk about the bitters it was my favorite of the dig. All of my bottles are at another location and i will take more pics of them monday.
One of the things that interest me alot about finding old bottles is how certian bottles might have been transported to the very distent locations of there resting place. Was the person who used this bitter wealthy or a traveler its at least 300 plus miles on todays roads.
This is just one of about 8 other single finds that seems to be somewhat rare mixed in with the commons.
For me anything thats over 100 years old and been buried under x amount of whatever and still looks as sweet as it does is fascinating.

I agree with Epackage and Mctaggart67, the bottles are not rare, maybe in the U.S. but not here in Canada. The Bitters are worth $20-25, I am not sure about the Cherry Balsam.
I have a Dr.Wilson's Herbine Bitters. The Brayley Drug.Co St. John N.B. and a 2 oz Wilsons Pulmonary Cherry Balsam JW. Brayley Proprietor 12 sided bottle.

I got this info from this website.. http://medicaments.bouteillesduquebec.ca/publicites/brayley.htm
It is French Canadian so I just used Google Translate to convert.

J.W. Brayley & Co.

historical

MJW Brayley founded his company in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 1855. He moved to Montreal in 1870 and launched in the drug trade in 1873. My current sources do not say whether he continued his operations in New Brunswick, but as many bottles of the late nineteenth century is embossed "NB St. John's," it is permissible to think that this was the case.

JW Brayley father died in 1891, his two son JW and RE Brayley (born in Fredericton) succeeding. The company became "Brayley, Sons & Co." at 481 rue St-Paul in Montreal. The firm moved to 43 and 45 William Street in May 1893.

It was a fairly prosperous business, receiving orders from across Canada, United States, West Indies and South America. In 1894, the company employed forty people and six vendors.
