Here are some of my bottles. The green one in the back is "Saxlehner's Bitterquelle" with nice embossing on the bottom. My favorite is the one on the left, "The Mother's Friend" (probably the kid's too, given the contents...lol). In the front is "Foley's Honey and Tar" and the bottle with the Giraffe is "Tonsilene." I've no idea what the bottle with the medical cross is or, when it's from. I havn't spent more than the cost of an espresso on any of these. They just "find" me. I havn't dug for bottles yet but hope to soon. I just want to thank everyone on this site. I feel like I'm "home."

Paul,
I absolutely LOVE the bottle with the Giraffe!! Great logo for a tonsil remedy too!
I hope (and I'm sure) you will get some interesting facts from the folks on the forum on the other bottles.....They all look very interesting and I can see why you chose them!!

Hi Paul!
Nice bottles!
Here are a few of my favorites (and my son Zachary's too!)
I dive for old bottles in lakes and streams in Wisconsin! Yeah here in Wisconsin where we have 20 inches of snow on the ground as I write this!
Enjoy!
Tom

ticklish...

This is an Owl Drug bottle and a Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root Kidney, liver, and Bladder Cure bottle. The Owl Drug bottle is cool because it has the metal stopper thingy still on it. The hair tonic or whatever has stained the inside of the bottle. The stopper comes out, but the metal top is not threaded or meant to come off. This makes trying to get the nasty dried contents out pretty tough. Any ideas? Pretty sure the metal part is lead (no rust) and would be trashed if I tumbled it. I'm still super new to bottle collecting and already I'm thinking about a tumbler! LOL! Thanks for all the replies to my earlier pics. The old bottles out of the lake are super cool and things I NEVER see here in the Pacific NW. Anyone have any idea on the value of the owl drug bottle???
