Great haul! I would love to see some close ups after they are cleaned up...in that second pic looks like you got 2 milk's there? Where are they from?

Curious...when you dive for stuff is it usually always partially visible (sticking out of the bottom) or do you have to probe the bottom like what has to be done on land?

Thanks!

Mostly stuff is exposed or part of it is sticking out of the sand/mud. Unless you are in a really rich seam there's usually no point in digging. I will get some pics up for this thread soon of the cleaned bottles. I dove again today and am going again tomorrow so the bottle cleaning has languished. This weekend I'll catch up! The big milk is Gleason from Chicopee, Mass, and the other was from Springfield I think (my buddy got that one).

Are you diving in the Connecticut River by chance?

Yeah-yup! Right in Springfield in fact. It seems like nobody ever dives there, there was stuff everywhere. Of course the reason I was diving there was to look at toxic waste, but hey, who wants to live forever?? I'll pm you (if I can figure that out) with my cell number and yeah, I'd love to get together for a dive. We've been doing a lot of work down there and from what I've seen it's an awesome place for bottle diving!

Hi Sean,

I got your pm and responded in kind, are you shore diving or using a boat? there was a boat in the photos but I was unsure if it was a work or play boat. Most importantly, did you find any Haz-Mat and if so, did ya leave it down there?

Sean -

I'd be interested in doing some CT River dives too. I live in northeastern CT, work in Hartford, and can get to Springfield in a very short time.

Nice finds by the way.

We did find haz-mat, and left it be. It will be removed though, to the tune of about 30 million dollars (it's a pretty serious deposit that I can't really talk about more here).

We went back today and got some more stuff, but the law of diminishing returns was operating. I cleaned some things up and I'll post a few pics tonight if I can multitask that and the Pats-Redskins game :)

This is the Bigelow & Co. I keep telling my buddy that it isn't worth $420 like Kovels' says because A) I don't care what you say it isn't green, it's greenish, and B) Kovels' is almost always way high. He gave it to me though, so I have to be circumspect about how much ass-kissing I owe now [:-]

I did give him the Langleys and the other Liberty Brewing Company though (sorry Seuss museum; we'll find you another one) so I don't feel too bad.
