I found this stopper in the top layer of an 1860-80's pit. Is this just a common decanter top or does anyone have any specific info on the bottle (or decanter?) that it belongs to?

Thanks
Tom

It probably went to one of those toilet water "dresser bottles" that had fancy scrolling/floral embossing and gold painted details.

Thanks for the input BG and Kent, I'm going to put the stopper in the digs "shard" bag.
