I haven't had but this one I dug many years ago. I tried to do a web search and couldn't find where one had sold or was for sale. It came out of a Memphis privy we dug back years ago when my father was still alive. It had some damage but we had it repaired by a glass restorer and it is kinda the center piece to my small collection.

I am assuming that is the Berkshire of Cincinnati, Ohio, AMANN & CO.. Can not give you a price, but I would guess it is worth a pretty good amount of money. Wish it were mine ! Thanks for posting it, I have not seen one for a good long time. Last one I seen dug was in Cincinnati back in the seventies off the bank of the Ohio River.

I went to Google and did a search on the Pig, found some great stories about AMANN, as well as a dig where some guy doing a dig found one. Could not find anything as for value. They are without question quite rare.

Hi Digger, This is just from a Price guide book by Jim Megura from 2000, but he lists its' value at that time as between $1100-$1300. Wally

I don't know that this is the case, but I have heard several references from old timers about different alcoholic beverages tasting like animal urine. It usually depended on the drinks background as to what animal was used.
ORIGINAL: kastoo

Why did they put the spout on the pigs butt? :)

ahh...no wonder there's a slang term in England and Australia calling beer "piss." Maybe because it tasted like and you did it a lot.
