I have found many 1920's Cheerwine being in NC. I found one today that was in the same style but it included the word "ALES" under the word Cheerwine. It was bottled in Charlotte and not Salisbury like most I've found. Has anyone else seen this type of Cheerwine before?

Recently I have found a few bottles (medicine, vinegar?, serum) which still have some form of contents. Is there a way to get these contents tested to see what they are relatively cheap? The two serums I dug up still have a bit of yellowish liquid in them. A half-gallon turn bottle and a...
I'll post a picture later.
Here's a bit of background on the site I'm at. In the 1920's The Charlotte Hotel was built in Charlotte, NC. This hotel was a staple for the city and eventually was placed on the National Registry. Even with that, the city got permission to implode the holet and...
Well I haven't gotten a bottle out of this one area for months and decided to give it another go. I found that the rain had broken the ground up and collapsed some areas. After clearing an area I started finding broken glass and then jackpot! This amber Hires is BIM and has some very nice...
I am going to try and get a few pictures up of this one, but I dug up a baby food like bottle that has ridged texture up 7 sides and has 7 more slick sides and then has embossed near the top "The Shearin Co." and on the opposite side "Atlanta. GA." all in caps. Notice it does have a period...
I have the bottle soaking at the moment and will get a picture hopefully tomorrow.
I know everyone has heard of Dr. Fletcher's Castoria, but has anyone else ever seen a Baby Grand Castoria? Bother sides say Baby Grand and the front has Baby Grand (trade mark) Castoria. Neat varition on a...
Just a small question if there is anyone else out there has seen a version of Hinds Honey and Almond Cream still made by the A. S. Hinds Co., but also having on it (Canada) Limited Toronto?
thanks

I know I have much cleaning to do but I wanted to give an idea of the dump I'm into. The dates of the dump have been turn to 1940 so it's pre-WWII. Here are the sodas I've found.
This group includes -
Straight Sided Pepsi, Straight Side Coke, Multiple Christmas Cokes, Multiple...
I'll have a picture hopefully by tonight, but I wanted to find out is anyone has seen anything like this. In my pre-40's dump I found a straight sided coca cola from Lincolnton NC. The thing is that the embossing was in three lines forming a circle with a line in the middle. The middle was...
I'm just wondering if anyone has ever seen a Caravan Dry Ginger Ale in a green slick bottle? Also it has Cheerwine Bot Co Charlotte, NC on it. The only Caravan I've ever seen have been made in Salisbury so this one seems a bit strange. I'll post a pic once I get the camera working. (I prob...
With bottle hunting plans going south I decided to drive a bit and ended up in Harmony, NC at an estate auction. Myself and my 9 year old daughter stayed and got a few things. When I got home to do the research I was a bit shocked at what we got. I do have a couple questions that I hope...
I believe it was a perfume sample but I wouldn't mind a second oppinion. The quarter is in the pictures for reference. I fould this in a 1940 and earlier new dump I found.
This one is so small I've already figured out that this is going to be tuff to clean[:-]

This is another from the pre-1910 dump Gary and myself are working. The bottom has a faded '1080' or '0801'. Not sure if it deals with mold, date, or both.
The full engraving says "BRANNON - CARBONATING CO. - CHARLOTTE, N.C."
I had a difficult time taking the picture because the...
Hope you guys can help with this one. Gary and myself have been at this park in Charlotte we believe was built on a pre-1910's dump. I found this bottle today and found out that it may be a pre-turn whiskey of some sort. It says 'J & E Portsmouth Alexandria Norfolk, VA' I'm hoping one of the...
Just wondering if anyone out there has any idea where these drinks were bottled or made. I have one with a Laurens Glass Works, Laurens, SC I found near a local semi-historical spring so I know the bottle was made there. No bottling company embossing so I'm thinking it was where Budwine who...
This bottle is a bit of a mystery. I have heard the guesses and have my own but here are a few - since it has the metal hanging clip at the base this could be some type of IV bottle (possibly used with embalming) or a glass canteen. What do you think?
First picture is with the plastic...
Went to WalMart this morning and bought a new digital camera. If I figure out how it works I will show you guys the stuff I've been finding from a wooded area with a bit of history. I have been mainly searching the surface and have raked a bit due to the leaves. So before I share any...
