I know these are too 'modern' for alot of our bottle collector, but they are kinda kitschy so I like them. Has anyone ever seen a clear version of this bottle? I have a green and an amber but cant find a clear exactly the same. Found clear ones that have the same 'water/juice' embossing but...
Does this look light blue or aqua? I think it's light blue. Also, I'm thinking RB10 #628, its a quart and the lid says Cohansey Glass Manuf. Co. Philada PA Patented July 16th 1872
I have been collecting Mason/Fruit jars for a little while (still newbie) and have the RB#10 for reference. Do any of you know know of a good book/site for reference for other food type jars and/or milk bottles dates, production marks etc?. I have gotten to like the milk bottles alot lately...
Horlicks Milk bottles, preferrably at an affordable price and preferrably with lids
A quart size Braun Safetee mason jar. I have a pint sized and would like to have the quart to match
I found this jar and cant find it in the RB. I apologize in advance for the pics, I took them while it was in the display case. It's an atmospheric but the lid says 'Wheaton Apothecary Pat Reg 1893' I believe was the year. Anyone have any clue, I havent had much luck on the internet finding...
I got this jar today and it looks to me like a #193, however in the book there is no mention of the word 'MASON' on the jar. It's a HG aqua jar. the 'N' in mason is slightly ghosted
How do you get rust out of a jar? I have read some people use baking soda and vinegar, lime-away or coca-cola. I have a few clear jars I want to get the rust and cloudiness out of but I don't want to damage the jars either.
I found this in a box of jars I bought ( I actually do canning so I buy lots of boxes of jars from Craigslist), I've looked it up on the internet and cant find anything. I know it is 'modern' because the rim doesnt appear to be ground
I have been lucky not to purchase any repro jars *knock on wood*, but I'm wondering, what do you ( by 'you' I mean forum members) do when you figure out you accidentally bought one? do you keep it? toss it? chock it up to experience?
Does anyone know about what year they stopped using the zinc lids on jars? I have several older jars without lids and I would like to put the proper ones on them by the correct era of production
