Having just arranged, in part the large bookshelf that you can see part of, I decided that other forum members would be interested in my collection of pewter mugs, a teapot and EPNS trophy mugs.
The middle one of the larger mugs on the left hand side reads "Harry Vivian, SM. It is Victorian...
Many of you will know me as a fervent digger of an old quarry area at a place called Brownhill Creek. Its close, and it has some goodies to surrender, but this is not the subject of this post, it only serves to remind you of who I am - Tandy!
I know that I have spoken about, discussed or...
Hi everyone,
Australia is at present experiencing a rather warm (dare I say HOT) summer, with the Adelaide maximums for Saturday and Sunday last (17 & 18 February) being 41 and 38 respectively, so the Forum Members from South Australia have not really been doing very much...

Hi everyone, I am wondering if anyone has any information about Lightning Hair Restorer, made by Mrs. I Comstock of Northport, Michigan.
I think it was used around 1900 - 1910.
It was also made (I assume under licence) in South Australia by Mr. O. Jarman of Naracoorte.

While "surfing" the internet, I happened to find this site, which is really something. It has nothing to do with bottles!
The photo, which is in jpg form, will take a long time to load, but is well worth the wait!
Here is the site's URL...
Can someone tell me if the normal marble sized Tiger Eye marble I dug is likely to be a one - off, or were a lot made, or should I say carved. Tiger Eye is a form of quartz, golden in colour, with asbestos inclusions. It is usually used for making semi precious stones, used in tie clips, cuff...
Has anyone any ideas as to what this sample bottle might have been used for? The bottle measures 92 mm in height, and 25 mm in diameter. Tht picture shows the design on the bottle.
For some reason, I think it may be a soy sauce bottle, but I am far from sure.
Thanks
Tandy
Back in mid November, I volunteered to help a good friend by recycling a large number of old bottles, and managed to get about a dozen for myself. Well, on the 29th of December, she asked for my help again, this time to take the bottles that I wanted from an extensive collection she and her late...

Having recently come across this interesting piece, I felt it was only right and proper to see it and come to your own conclusions. It would seem that F. diggingii is extremely infectious, and as yet no cure exists.

Back on May 20th of this year, I posted a picture of a nice blue poison bottle that I was lucky enough to dig. (https://www.antique-bottles.net/forum/Recently_dug_bottle/m_26340/tm.htm)
I am wondering if these bottles, with the Registration No. 590540, ever found there way to the United...
As some of you may know, I have a local site which I quite often go to to dig. Usually, the results are unspectacular.
As I unfortunately did not have a camera to photograph the bottle, I will include a URL that will show you the same type of bottle...
Hi everybody,
this post is all about our recent club dig at a small town north of Adelaide. Firstly, "our club" refers to the Adelaide Historical Bottle Club, and the site of our dig was at a small town called Terowie, some 220 kilometres north of Adelaide.
This actual...
