    Scranton, Wilkes-Barre, Shickshinny, PA bottles

Just some new bottles I recently picked up from the estate of a man who passed away. He must have collected from that region. Does anyone know the rarity of these? Thanks.

    1800’s Redware Banks

1800’s Redware Banks There’s a local auction coming up here soon that has a few nice redware banks for sale. I wouldn’t mind having some of these for my collection but I don’t really know their values and don’t want to overpay. Can anyone help me out? I think my favorites are the...

Scored a rare jar for $2

I don’t think I have ever found a rare bottle at an antique store for cheap until now. There was a shelf of ball perfect jars, all quarts and pints except for this little ½ pint. When I walked up to it I saw the 2 and I thought it was going to be over prices at $200, but nope, I picked it up...

A real heartbreaker, amber 1858 jar

Hey everyone. Yesterday myself and two other digging buddies found our self a nice 1870s privy. We got some nice bottles out of the hole but here is a real heartbreaker. It’s a quart 1858 jar in amber. It was broken into a few pieces and I glued it back together. I am still missing part of the...

Dug a rare colored coal region squat!

Here are some pictures of the finds from Saturday when I took a trip down to see my buddy in Pottsville, PA to do some digging. He said he found a small bootleg pit out in the woods that was worth checking out so we dug it. It ended up being 2 feet deep and about 12x12 feet wide. The best bottle...

Anyone sell bottles at antique shops?

Hi everyone. I am looking into getting a space at a local antique store to get rid of some of my common stuff and doubles. It’s $43 a month which is a little more than I thought it would be but it's not too bad. Does anyone else sell common/doubles in antique stores? How do you guys usually...

    Highlighting the embossing with whiteout

Hey everyone. I just wanted to see how many of you paint the letters on your blobs and squats white to make them stand out better? I hate looking at my cases and just seeing rows of green and aqua squats because they all look the same. Do you guys use whiteout or white paint? Can you give me any...

Another addition to my poison line

Earlier today at the bottle show I picked up a tiny lattice poison and mint larger one to replace a damaged one in my line. I am up to 6 now and all are in great condition. Just need some stoppers but they are really tough to find being sold without the bottle. ~~Tom

Switching tubes/stopples between polishing & cutting

I was wondering how necessary it is to use different tubes and different stopples when switching from cutting oxides and polishing oxides. I use different copper but I use the same stopples and tubes. Will it make a difference in how clear the polished bottle comes out or not. I am planning on...

unmarked amber pontiled puff and more

Here are my picks from an 8 foot pontiled privy we dug today. My best bottle is a pontiled puff in an amber color and a pontiled Dr. Jayne’s Tonic Vermifuge. I also got a pile of pontiled puffs and a hinge mold Upham’s No.1 Hair Dye. Some of the other bottles we got were some other embossed...

Citron strapside flask, sapphire oil lamp, squat & more

Here are my finds from today’s two privy’s in central PA. We got a late start on the day but managed to dig two different yards today because the privys in that town tend to be pretty shallow and both ended up being about 5-6 feet deep and were skinny. Both were wood liners and here are the...

I have decided to thin out my soda collection a little and start by getting rid of some of my smooth based sodas/beers. If they don’t sell I will be selling them at a local flea market in a few weeks so that is what the yellow stickers are for. They are all smooth based but one is iron...
