A friend of mine apparently has some of the '1923' bottles, except they're in an 8 oz. size. I double-checked with her on this point. I've seen some reproductions, but the 6 oz. size certainly hadn't been changed. And I'd think a commemorative would be clearly marked as such in some way. Do...
I like this carrier for its own sake, but also found it interesting that it isn't large enough to hold 12 oz. bottles!
It has a 'telescoping' handle which extends even farther than shown in the picture, and yet the individual compartments just aren't big enough for the 12 ouncers. Would have...
Does anyone know anything about this carrier?
I just bought a second one because I think it might make a good gift for a lady-friend at some point.
I bought the first one because I'd never seen it before, it was inexpensive, and it was in 'new' condition.
When I first saw it I was surprised...
Just found one of these I could afford! Wanted one for a long time.
This is a 1950's 'hook-on' attachment for a shopping cart.
Might be fun to bring this along while shopping with the wife and see what people think.
Didn't have the extra satisfaction of finding or digging this, but I still think it's great.
The White Mule Seltzer label is appealing ("A real kick in the glass!") enough on its own.
But it was put smack-dab on top of the original Oroville Soda Works label. Double-whammy!
Here's the front...
Found this 1 inch cubed piece right out in the open on the grounds of the National Institutes of Health.
Thought it might be a fake ice cube, such as used by pro photographers when shooting cold drinks.
But closer inspection shows that the little squiggle on the lower right corner of one face...
I think it's sort of funny that if you asked most people today when they thought the recycling 'movement' started, they'd likely guess in the 60's to 70's range. The neck label on this one, making a point of requesting the cap as well as bottle, is a reminder that a couple decades earlier...
Someone recently mentioned clear Coke bottles as being sent to our boys overseas in WWII.
Is this one of them, or something else? I've always liked the sparse design, but don't have a clue what it is. Thanks! Bob
Not as cool as McDirt's recent old old old one, but kind of interesting. I'm told that this stuff was only made for a few months at some point in the 70's. The word 'dietetic' didn't go over well so they dropped it. This was before the manufacturers and their ad agencies figured out that they...
This carrier was described to me as being made of masonite due to the need for metal during WWII.
I'm certain other sodas had similar carriers, and if anyone has one I'd love to see it! Bob
After making a donation to the forum I was directed here.
Didn't understand what was going on at all, and seeing the word "evil" somewhere or another sort of bothered me.
Is this the normal result after making a donation? It was kind of unnerving. Thanks, Bob
This'll be my last post for today, as I don't want to wear out my welcome.
Here's what I like to think is a very nice, although a bit feminine, shot of some non-red 7ups with a metal carrier.
I want to see how it comes out in the forum, because the original is a very large high-definition...
This one is interesting to me, as the older back label and u7p embossing would normally indicate an eight-bubble front label.
Although it has the same 'three-bubble' left column as an 'eight-bubble' label, a bubble seems to have been omitted in the center column.
Could this unusual layout be...
Hey, Everyone!
This is my first post, so please bear with me if I screw it up.
Here's a very nice 7up bottle, green and white with u7p embossing.
But where in the world did the 'Coca-Cola Bottling Company' come from? Thanks, Bob
