Here were my digs from the night before. I found the Mason's 1858 in the dirt pile. I dug a J&IEM ink and a nice local whiskey out of my test hole! Also got a couple of marbles and other stuff.

This whiskey was the find that fueled the fire. I was sure wanting to dig another nice whiskey or bitters out of there! It's a rare local Lexington, Ky. 1870's/80's whiskey... Reed's "Old Lexington Club" It was on my wish list and I never thought I'd dig a whole one!

Very nice blob squaties. Is that a stain on that little jug or a design? I've always had a soft spot for those turtle head inkwells. Are those blob squaties, iron pontils or did they just miss out by a few years? Very nice digs. Thanx for sharing. Swizzle

Thanks guys. Yeah Swizzle, I had been wanting to dig that ink for a while now. I couldn't believe it when the second one popped out! The squat sodas are smooth based, just missed being pontiled. They are from the 1860's. Yeah Bram, I had been undermining my wall a little and decided to knock the top off. When I did, I saw the marble laying there! I'm still in shock. It's a four paneled onionskin with a pontil scar. I'm not sure what the barrell bitters was? The first two letters of the name are C.W. and then it says Stomach Bitters Cincinatti OH. It would have been a nice honey amber too! About broke my heart. Chris

That is one great looking bunch of bottles. I was wondering if you know any history on the Philo M Clark squat you dug. I have two Philo M Clark Squats but they are from Steubenville Ohio. I wonder if they are the same guy. Maybe he had two places or moved. The ones I have are both smooth base. Small world[:D]

Hey Craig ,lol...(we're bro's) Not that you are digging for value but that marble may be your best find money wise. Nice find! worth atleast $100.

Yeah, that bitters said C. W. Roback's Stomach Bitters. Do you think the Reed from that Reed's whiskey could be the same Reed from Reed's Gilt Edge Tonic?

Thanks Kent. Yeah, I'd loved to had seen that one whole! It's got a nice big red iron pontil. I'm not sure about Reed's other than it is a local Lexington, Ky. whiskey. I'd say it's just the same name but two different people? Chris
