Hello Folks,
I have been watching too much Ebay tv and noticed that the colored inks have been selling like crazy. Pontiled etc I can understand but the colored Cones are a different story. What gives? Anyone else watching this? Here is one from our old friend Bottleworks.

I have noticed this as well. The cobalt Carter's 1897 cones have been bringing over $100, and sometimes 200! I think I paid around 50 bucks for mine a few years ago, and now I'm glad I didn't wait. ~Jim

I also had a small run of colored cone inks I sold years ago. But the money went towards other bottles that have increased in value quite well. So in the end i'm happy.

Yes, its crazy.I saw a citron one sell close to $500.00 clams a few months ago.I believe people started collecting these because you could put together a nice run for little money. Not anymore.

I like the colored cones because they add splashes of color to my ink collection. But I just don't think they are worth the $ they are drawing right now. As I just typed in another string, inks seem to sway in desireability between the aqua but rare figurals and the colors. Right now, color is king on "the bay".

All colored inks seem to be doing well. I won't be buying any at these prices, as I agree that we could see them "cool off" a bit at some point. For anyone who has a few extra ones to unload, now would be a good time to do it.

One of these guys recently sold for over $600. This one only cost me a little elbow grease in digging an 8-foot pit. I have been tempted to buy it a "friend" or two for the shelf, but I think I'll wait a while. ~Jim
