You would think I would be happy about those prices....but I am not. Just makes them harder to come by.

Thanks for the info. I just listed 5 of them to see how they do. I'm kinda curious. Here's the link http://shop.ebay.com/dantiques111/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340

I sold the 4 cone inks in the middle on ebay. The green one sold for $53.99, next was the dark teal for $76, the light brown Carters for $37 and the light teal for $71.70. I didn't list the 1st or the last in the lineup. I was hoping for more but I can't complain. Selling 4 cone inks for $238.69 is not bad. Thanks everyone for the heads up on these.

Yeah..........I have seen that on Ebay- makes me wonder if the seller has a few buddies helping him out with the bids or something. All Ive been looking for is an amber cone ink carters 1897 for maybe $15 or $20 bucks and I dont think Ive seen one for under $25. I didnt see any that high at the few bottle shows Ive been to this past year. Curious to see what the next few shows have them for if there are any on the tables. Im just going to hang tight for my Amber carters.

And now there's something like 40 more cone inks in various rare and not so rare colors. By the time everyone gets done with the feeding frenzy, you won't be able to get more than $5 for a good color cone ink for the next year... They'll buy themselves right out.

It's basically two different buyers with deep pockets. Anytime an item sells for more than it should, a lot of that item will come out of the woodwork from people hoping to capitalize. I agree with Jim and also think we will see a flood and bring prices down quite a bit. Makes me wonder what those fellas think when they paid those steep prices and then see a bunch of them?? You have to watch for fads and avoid buying when it is "the rage".
