Earl and staats bottle

This bottle has a wire closure on top. written on the bottle says EARL & STAATS SARATOGA. On back side says THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD.. On the bottom of bottle says KARL HUTTER SARATOGA N.Y. and a z or a 2 58 Any one know anything about this bottle??

Cool! I was in the USAF with a guy named STAATZ and he was from the greater NYC area.

Karl Hutter was a N.Y. bottler so Earl & Staats must have been brewers. Karl Hutter also bottled beer in the same type bottle marked with a bottle on the front with KARL HUTTER above it, XCLR LAGER in the bottle desin and the address under it. 23 FIRST ST / COR 2D AVE / N.Y.
