..there's also a bag of these doohickeys.. don't know if they're pertainant, but I'm keeping them with the rest of this stuff just in case they're useful..
..instruction manuals, service records, and a diver's log book, offering insight as to when, where, and how often this stuff was used.. Grand Cayman.. sounds nice![]
For anyone interested in buying this gear, service kits are readily available for the older Dacor first and second stages from any dive shop that does regulator service work. A complete service on the regs will cost about $60.00 Not a bad entry level setup for someone interested in getting into scuba to find bottles. The doohickeys are first stage port plugs and are nice to have in your save a dive kit. That vintage Dacor sticker would bring $15 or $20 at the vintage dive forum or on Ebay, lots of vintage divers like go withs like those older stickers in good condition. Thats very nice of you Charlie.
Hey Charlie. Nice stuff. The 'doohickeys' are plugs for the ports that you don't use on your first stage. For example, if you remove one of those breathing hoses, you have to fill that port or all of your air will just blow out. The orange rubber thing is basically a noise maker underwater. You can't talk very well and you can't locate the source of a sound (sound travels much faster underwater. Interestingly, your brain can tell the direction of a sound by the difference it takes for the sound to travel from one ear to the other). That little orange thingy can be put onto your tank. Then when you want to get a fellow diver's attention, you can pull on the rubber piece and get a metallic clanking against the tank when you release it. Great for getting someone to look.
