I pulled this pickle out, and it would have been a really good one if fully intact.....

I can't recall all of the embossing on the pickle - Chris took it home to research it. It read "Smith and Co." in part, and was open pontil.

The Pickle is embossed T. Smith & Co. but nothing else. Its not one I have seen before and it's a pale Yellow Green color. Its really heart breaking that it wasn't intact.

Cindy, I'm really glad you had fun digging with us.

Cindy and Chris, looks like a great dig. That pickle is a killer, I'd love to see it cleaned up along with the rest of the finds. Cindy, it sounds like you had a great first dig, welcome to diggers anonymous!

Here is a picture of the Pickle cleaned. its a pale yellow green and is embossed T. Smith & Co. I was able to find a Thomas Smith listed as an oyster packer during the 1850s in Baltimore, I haven't looked elsewhere yet. And a William Smith listed as a pickler so there could be some connection to one of those two businesses. Still more research to do. If anyone else hase seen this bottle before let me know.

Here's a picture of the whiskey I got from this dig. Its embossed on the base A. Hart & Son Baltimore. This bottle was unknown until a few years ago when another Baltimore digger found one. This is only the second example to turn up. I'm really happy to add this one to my collection. Sorry for lack of a base picture I just couldn't get one that showed the embossing well. I will try again when I have some day light to work with.

The carving looks Aztec or Mayan. Would love to see some other pics of it if there are any!
