Cindy,....this post keeps popping back up,...so I'm curious. Did you get anything out of your first dig/privy dig to add to your collection? I hope there was a little something,...a tiny pontil,...cool marble,...doll head...or "D" none of the above?...[;)] Only recently have we started digging privys, and so far, only one of them had a substantial amount of bottles...the rest were odds and ends with a few bottles scattered throughout. We have another hopeful on the horizon...perhaps tomorrow. Do you think you would do it again?

I would definitely do it again! I think I will bring Chris and Alan good luck, so they better invite me back!

I am not sure that the pickle is the same as the Philadelphia T.B. Smith and Co., but it could be. The ones shown in Zumwalt all have the "B" embossed, and Philad. The one we found just says T. Smith and Co. Of course, ours could be an unpictured variant, but I think it might be another T. Smith. I pulled that one out of the hold and let me tell you, if it had been whole, I'd probably have quit my job to be a full-time digger!

Joe- I'll take a picture of the one's I brought home, and post in a bit.

I don't know for sure either but I'm so close to 100%. Even as a partial I'll bet, especially if it's undocumented, it's got worth. I know it does for the finding of it.
Still, don't quit yer job, they're to hard to find now.
